Feel Like You're Losing Your Mind?
Let's Just Be Honest About How Many Hours in the Week We Have...
If you’re like me, you feel like your to-do list will never end.
Instead, it grows increasingly unwieldy until you just can’t start or finish anything anymore. You sit at your desk/in front of your computer/on a bench with a pen in your hand and a notebook on your knee, frozen and overwhelmed, mentally beating yourself up for being unable to keep up.
So Many Ideas, So Little Time
I imagine this is especially true for creatives. We start one project, then when it starts to feel more like work than play because the excitement wore off, hop to the next exhilarating idea (because that one’s really our purpose, really the one that’ll bring in thousands of dollars and change people’s lives). Wash, rinse, repeat.
But we still want to do all of the projects—just in a different order. The list keeps getting shuffled around. And it keeps growing. Then we want to do it all at the same time.
When I get to this stage (ahem, often), it feels like the Tasmanian Devil is wreaking havoc in my mind. Here are some mindset shifts and things to remind yourself of:
