I recently decided to give Medium a fair(ish) try for about a month to see if it was worth investing a lot of time into at this point or if it was just one more writer-friendly platform turned…well, greedy, for lack of a better word.
I published frequently and sought out publications to get my work in front of more eyeballs since those two things seemed to be the keys to success when I attended Medium Day and the other event they held not too long ago.
At first, I got some traction, but I was really running on a hamster wheel to keep up with the output necessary to see any. It felt like I couldn’t hop off the wheel, or I’d lose any momentum I’d gained.
Publishing on Medium might still be worth it, but I’m not approaching it the way I thought I would, and I might cancel the membership I’ve had since around 2018.
